What is ISA Direct?

ISA Direct is our fund strategy and research publication in which we feature our analysts' fund selections for ISAs and SIPPs, together with model investor portfolios and details about our attractive fund discount deals. It is published in January ahead of the end of the tax year. We provide an update of all our investment choices in the supplement brochure Fundexpress, which is published in September.

Our top funds for 2009

Just forty funds have made it into our report this year. In our view, each and every one of our selected funds has a strong investment case in their particular category. Incidentally, you don't have to invest in these funds just through an ISA; you may also invest in them directly, or through a personal pension including a SIPP or a SSAS or via an investment bond.

How can I improve the performance of my old ISA accounts?

Many private investors are still unaware that they can easily change their ISA accounts from previous tax years and move into new funds with greater potential for capital growth or higher income without losing any of the tax-free benefits. Check over the latest valuations you have received from your plan managers or your financial adviser and ask yourself if you should keep those funds or whether you would do better by changing.
