Fund Supermarket FAQs

A fund supermarket is an account management company that administers funds within ISA & PEP plans as well as holdings outside these wrappers.

A fund supermarket allows investors to combine funds from a range of fund managers in one central account . a degree of flexibility that was not possible before. You can create your own portfolio and centralise your existing funds by re-registration. Supermarkets also make it quicker and easier to switch between funds.

Allenbridge clients can invest with either Cofunds or Fidelity FundsNetwork. Cofunds offers over 800 funds from 50 fund managers. FundsNetwork offers over 900 funds from 53 different ones. The majority of funds are common to both supermarkets.

No. Fidelity FundsNetwork and Cofunds do not charge investors any fees other than the annual fees charged by the fund managers.

No. In order to satisfy HM Revenue & Customs requirements, you may only open an ISA with one supermarket as your account manager per tax year.

In the case of transfers and new holdings, a minimum investment of £1,000 per fund is required. If investing on a monthly basis a minimum amount of £50 per fund applies each month. There is no minimum amount for re-registration.

Yes. The discounts are exactly the same as if the fund manager was your account manager. The only exception is with Allenbridge cashback discounts, which are not available through the supermarket.

Yes. However, this is not something that Allenbridge would necessarily recommend, since it exposes the investor to a greater risk if the fund does not perform well.

You should receive a contract note from the fund supermarket within 7-14 days following their receipt of your ISA or Unit Trust application form via Allenbridge.

You will receive an annual valuation from FundsNetwork or twice yearly from Cofunds. Your funds will automatically be added to AllenbridgeCare.

Yes. Allenbridge makes no charge for transferring. We apply our full discount on all new funds. We advise you to check with us when considering a transfer. There may be a charge for re-registration depending on the fund manager.

Send us a letter or fax setting out clearly the changes you wish us to make. Alternatively, you may access your account online and conduct the switch yourself. Please remember to print the confirmation number for your records in case of reference. All fund switches cost only 0.25%.

Yes. You can invest with FundsNetwork or Cofunds by accessing either of them via www.allenbridge.co.uk using the .Invest Online. icon. This route will identify you as an Allenbridge client and will automatically entitle you to any Allenbridge discounts, as well as the AllenbridgeCare service. You will need a Switch, Maestro or Delta card.

Yes. Both Cofunds and FundsNetwork provide online valuations. You can switch or top-up your investment on the internet. You just need to speak with FundsNetwork to obtain your internet access password before you can view your account online. For details go to their website at www.fundsnetwork.co.uk.
